AuraSync ("the App") is developed by Michael Holt ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and safeguarded when you use the App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your sensitive health data remains under your control.

1. Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with:

• GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation - EU)
• CalOPPA (California Online Privacy Protection Act - USA)
• CASL (Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation)
• COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act - USA)

2. Information We Collect

AuraSync is designed to operate as a local-first application. This means that the vast majority of your data is stored directly on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

A. Health Data (via Health Connect)

With your explicit opt-in consent, AuraSync accesses the following data from Android Health Connect:

• Step counts
• Sleep sessions
• Heart rate

This data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. We use this information solely to visualize your physical activity and health trends alongside your migraine logs.

B. Migraine Logs

You may manually input data regarding migraine episodes, including:

• Date and time (onset and end)
• Intensity levels
• Personal notes

This information is stored locally on your device.

C. Media Usage

The App provides background audio features for relaxation and migraine relief. We do not collect, track, or store information regarding your media consumption habits or preferences.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• To provide the core functionality of tracking and visualizing migraine patterns.
• To display health metrics (steps, heart rate, sleep) in relation to your logs.
• To facilitate user-initiated data exports.

4. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage: All personal and health data is stored in a local SQLite database (aurasync.db) on your mobile device.

No Server Transmission: We do not automatically transmit, back up, or sync your health or migraine data to any external servers or cloud services.

Security: Since data is stored locally, the security of your data depends on the security of your mobile device. We recommend using device-level encryption and biometrics/passcodes.

5. Third-Party Services and Cookies

Cookies: The App does not currently use cookies or similar tracking technologies.

Third-Party Access: We do not share your data with any third parties. Access to Health Connect is governed by Google’s Health Connect Permissions and Privacy Policy.

6. Data Export and Sharing

The App allows you to export your logs to external files (e.g., Excel/CSV) for your own records or to share with healthcare providers. This process is strictly user-initiated. AuraSync does not share these files automatically.

7. Children's Privacy

AuraSync is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information from our local records.

8. Medical Disclaimer

AuraSync is a tracking and relaxation tool. It is not a medical device, and the information provided within the App does not constitute medical advice. Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

9. Your Rights (GDPR/CalOPPA)

Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access/Portability: You can view all your data within the App or export it via the "Export" feature.
• Deletion: You can delete your data at any time by clearing the App's storage or deleting specific entries within the App.
• Withdraw Consent: You can revoke access to Health Connect at any time through your device's system settings.

10. Future Communications (CASL)

In future updates, the App may offer reminder notifications. These will be strictly functional (e.g., reminders to log symptoms) and will require user opt-in. We do not send commercial electronic messages or promotional emails.
